South Island Spirit Loop

Campaign

The Challenge

The Spirit Loop was born out of a unique partnership between the City of Langford, the Malahat Nation, and the Sooke to Port Renfrew Tourism Association. The collective had a shared vision: to create a compelling regional identity that celebrated the outdoor adventure, cultural richness, and natural beauty of southwest Vancouver Island.

With the growing interest in local tourism and the need to boost regional travel, the challenge was twofold:

  1. Create a brand and website that would reflect the vibrant, authentic spirit of the land and its communities.
  2. Design an integrated campaign to position the Spirit Loop as a must-visit destination for residents and travelers alike.

The initiative needed a bold visual identity and a digital presence that could unite distinct communities under one cohesive experience – while respecting Indigenous voices and showcasing the region’s diverse attractions.

The Approach
Working closely with partners and stakeholders, we crafted a marketing strategy focused on storytelling, accessibility, and regional pride. This included developing the Spirit Loop brand – an adventurous, flexible visual identity inspired by the region’s landscapes and Indigenous heritage – and launching a mobile-friendly WordPress website to inspire exploration. The campaign was supported by digital assets, print materials, and media outreach.
